2.  Applicants who do not meet entry requirements (2), if find suitable, will be employed to undergo at least 6 months’ on the job training including the structured departmental training. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training.

3. Appointment will be on temporary terms up to 1 year.
4. Working hours up to 11.7 hours per week.

Department/Cluster: Department of Psychiatry, Kowloon East Cluster
Pay: HK$128.19 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

1.  Provide recovery support to people with mental health problems in the community and hospital settings

2.  Promote the recovery concept in various settings within department and the people they served

3.  Assist patients in obtaining community resources and information that facilitate rehabilitation

4.  Share and discuss experiences with people with mental health problems or staff, public in group or in public

5.  Assist in organizing and providing recovery-based activities and training programs for people with mental health problems

6.  Assist in staff training meetings

7.  Handle other administrative duties such as sending and receiving email and telephone calls, and completing required documentation etc.

8.  Carry out any other duties as assigned by supervisor

Entry Requirements:

1.  Has completed F.5/S.5, or equivalent

2.  Has completed structured departmental training (See Remarks).

 

Preferred Attributes:

1.  Has attained passes in 5 subjects in HKCEE including English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language; OR Level 2 in 5 subjects in HKDSE including English Language & Chinese Language.

2.  Fluency in written English and Chinese as well as spoken Cantonese.

3.  Good communication (verbal & written) / presentation / group skills.

4.  Good knowledge and skills in computer applications including MS Word, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing.

5.  Completed relevant peer support worker training program.

6.  Good interpersonal skills and willing to work and meet with people.

7.  Having relevant working experience in mental health service.
