Position : Patient Care Assistant II (Occupational Therapy Department)
Rank : Patient Care Assistant II
Cluster : New Territories East Cluster
Pay : HK$19,764 - HK$24,701 per month 
    Up to 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist therapists to prepare and carry out treatment programs and educational activities for patients.

  2. Assist in setting up and assembly of equipment and prepare patients for assessment and treatment.

  3. Carry out specific patient assessment and investigation (training will be provided).

  4. Provide technical assistance and observation during care process/examination procedures.

  5. Provide technical assistance in the production of splints, pressure garments and assistive devices for patients.

  6. Perform independent operation of computers, word and data processing.

  7. Assist in the preparation of computerized, visual and written training materials, audio-visual aids and software installation for patient education and rehabilitation activities.

  8. Assist in teaching computer skills for patients education and work rehabilitation.

  9. Perform triage, out-patient registration, appointment booking, receptionist duties and handle patient enquiries.

  10. Manage patient record system and retrieve patient data from in-house computer systems.

  11. Collect, verify and compile statistics.

  12. Assist in inventory control and procurement process.

  13. Clean and sterilize equipments, apparatus, instruments, containers and working areas.

  14. Perform procedures and maintain documentation to comply with the requirement for quality, safety, occupational health & environmental protection.

  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Entry Requirements:

  1. (a) F.5 / S.5 or equivalent; OR
    (b) F.3 / S.3 with 2 years relevant full-time working experience in any one of the following crafts\: 
    Metalwork, woodwork, tailoring, sewing, teaching in computer skills/software, maintenance of electrical or electronic appliances and cookery. (See Remarks)

  2. Completed structured departmental training. (See Remarks)

  3. Good command of English and Chinese, written and spoken.

Preferred Attributes/Exposure:

  1. Possessed working experience in metalwork, woodwork, tailoring, sewing craft, teaching computer skills, electrical, electronic or other technical aspects.

  2. Holding certificate(s) related to metalwork, woodwork, tailoring, sewing craft, computer, electrical, electronic or other technical aspects in an appropriate trade or be able to furnish evidence.

  3. Possessed working experience in patient care.

  4. Knowledge in computer applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Chinese word processing and simple multimedia programs (e.g. Flash or similar software).

  5. Interested to work in hospital with patients.
