Bark & Mane of Cherry Hill is a new mobile pet grooming business launching in the South Jersey area, focused on delivering high-quality, stress-free grooming experiences for pets and exceptional service for their owners.

Role Summary
As a Mobile Pet Groomer, you will provide professional grooming services directly at clients’ homes using our fully equipped grooming van.

You will play a key role in shaping our early reputation, customer loyalty, recurring client base, and long-term growth.

This role is more than grooming, it is craftsmanship, pet care, relationship building, and representing the Bark & Mane brand with professionalism and compassion.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality grooming services including: 
    • bathing 
    • brushing 
    • haircuts / trims 
    • breed-specific styling 
    • nail trims 
    • ear cleaning 
    • de-shedding treatments 
    • sanitary trims 
  • Safely handle pets of various breeds, sizes, coat types, and temperaments 
  • Deliver calm, low-stress, pet-first grooming experiences 
  • Communicate professionally with clients before, during, and after appointments 
  • Educate pet parents on coat maintenance and grooming schedules 
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of grooming van and tools 
  • Work collaboratively with dispatcher to stay on route and on schedule 
  • Document client notes, pet preferences, and special handling instructions 
  • Encourage recurring appointments and long-term client relationships 
  • Represent Bark & Mane with warmth, professionalism, and reliability
Must-Haves

  • 3-5 years of pet grooming experience
  • Ability to complete quality grooms independently 
  • Strong knowledge of grooming techniques, coat types, and breed standards 
  • Safe animal handling skills 
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality 
  • Strong customer service and communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently in a mobile environment 
  • Positive, calm, patient demeanor with pets 
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/manage pets as needed 
  • Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record 
Nice-to-Haves

  • Mobile grooming experience 
  • Hand scissoring / advanced finishing skills 
  • Experience handling anxious or senior pets
  • Cat grooming experience 
  • AKC S.A.F.E. certification or willingness to obtain
  • Existing local client following / referral network 
  • Ability to mentor future groomers as company grows 
  • Social media comfort (before/after photos, client engagement) 
  • Interest in growing into Lead Groomer or multi-van trainer role

Compensation

This is a commission-based W-2 employee role.

Compensation includes a percentage of completed grooming services, with strong earning potential tied to production, quality, recurring clientele, and schedule consistency.

Additional incentives may be available as the business grows.

Benefits

As a start-up, the company is unable to offer benefits at this time.  However, as a conscientious owner with employee engagement top of mind, benefit opportunities will be reviewed and implemented as business growth allows.

Bark & Mane will pay for AKC S.A.F.E. certification for all of our groomers.  This is a requirement of our franchise, but a GREAT benefit for you!

Compensation: $200.00 per day
