Role Summary
As a Mobile Pet Groomer, you will provide professional grooming services directly at clients’ homes using our fully equipped grooming van.
You will play an important role in client satisfaction, recurring business, online reviews, and the overall growth of Bark & Mane. of Cherry Hill
This role is more than grooming, it is craftsmanship, pet care, customer service, and representing our brand with professionalism and compassion.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality grooming services including bathing, brushing, haircuts, trims, nail trims, ear cleaning, deshedding, sanitary trims, and breed-specific styling
- Safely handle pets of various breeds, sizes, coat types, and temperaments
- Deliver calm, low-stress, pet-first grooming experiences
- Communicate professionally with clients before, during, and after appointments
- Educate pet parents on coat maintenance and grooming schedules
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of grooming van and tools
- Work collaboratively with dispatch to stay on route and on schedule
- Document client notes, pet preferences, and special handling instructions
- Encourage recurring appointments and long-term client relationships
- Represent Bark & Mane with warmth, professionalism, and reliability
What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves
- 3–5 years of professional pet grooming experience
- Ability to complete quality grooms independently from start to finish
- Strong knowledge of grooming techniques, coat types, and breed standards
- Safe animal handling skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a mobile environment
- Positive, calm, patient demeanor with pets
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
Nice-to-Haves
- Mobile grooming experience
- Hand scissoring / advanced finishing skills
- Experience handling anxious or senior pets
- Cat grooming experience
- Existing local client following / referral network
- Ability to mentor future groomers as the business grows
Compensation
This is a W-2 commission-based role with competitive earning potential.
Experienced groomers can earn strong weekly income based on production, schedule volume, recurring clientele, and tips.
Additional incentive opportunities may be available as the business grows.
