As a Kennel Assistant, you are essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our boarding and hospitalized pets. Your work directly impacts patient well-being and supports the medical team in delivering exceptional care.
This is a hands-on, active role ideal for individuals who enjoy structure, responsibility, and working closely with animals.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for pets including feeding, watering, and monitoring well-being
- Maintain clean, sanitized kennels and hospital areas to ensure a safe environment
- Walk, bathe, and provide enrichment to support pets’ physical and emotional health
- Observe and report changes in behavior, appetite, or condition to the veterinary team
- Assist with basic patient handling and support for exams and treatments
- Help manage laundry, dishes, and overall hospital cleanliness
- Interact with pet owners in a friendly, professional manner when needed
Scheduling Expectations
Caring for animals is a 7-day-a-week responsibility, and our team works together to ensure every pet receives consistent, high-quality care.
This role requires:
- Evening, weekend, and holiday availability on a rotating, shared schedule
- Flexibility to support boarding and hospitalized patients outside of standard business hours
- A team-first mindset to ensure fair and consistent coverage for all shifts
We approach scheduling collaboratively and respectfully—every team member plays an important role in supporting patient care.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Must be 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Passion for animal care and a strong work ethic
- Previous animal care or customer service experience is a plus (but not required)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout your shift
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize signs of stress or illness in pets
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
