We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Kennel Assistant to support our veterinary team by maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our patients. This role is essential to daily operations and focuses heavily on weekend care and facility support. The ideal candidate enjoys working with animals, is detail-oriented, and understands the importance of cleanliness and patient comfort.
Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, runs, and treatment areas
Provide basic care for hospitalized and boarding animals (feeding, watering, walking, medicating and monitoring comfort)
Assist with laundry, dishes, and general clinic cleanliness
Observe animals for signs of illness, stress, or injury and report concerns to medical staff
Safely handle animals following clinic protocols
Restock supplies and assist with end-of-day cleaning duties
Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection-control guidelines
Ability to work weekends.
Occasional holidays and nights are a plus.
Comfortable handling dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments
Ability to stand, walk, do stairs, bend, and lift up to 40lbs
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Previous experience working with animals (kennel, shelter, daycare, veterinary clinic) is preferred but not required
Familiarity with veterinary cleaning products and protocols (training provided)
Interest in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine or animal care
